Piece
Inspired by a
Shaker work table, this occasional table is constructed using
traditional joinery and features a single drawer, outside tapered legs,
and a top with an elegant underside bevel. The piece has a hand-rubbed
finish of Danish oil and paste wax.
Shown here is a
solid cherry table. The drawer interior and drawer slides are made of cherry and
maple, the drawer bottom is made of solid poplar.
This style of table
can be made of any species of wood or combination of species. The legs
can also be tapered on the inside for a more traditional appearance. A
table like this can be made in a range of dimensions to suit your needs
and preferences.

Though
the
table appears golden in colour in these photographs, the table actually
has
a pinkish, if not ruddy hue when viewed in person.
Moreover,
with time it will darken to the pleasant rusty brown characteristic of
cherry wood. You can see this eventual colour in the solid cherry knob.
This
particular table
stands 30 3/4" high. The top measures 27" wide x 23" deep. The drawer
interior
is 3.5" high x 17" wide x 13.5" deep.
This style of
table is priced anywhere between $1000 and $1400 depending on size,
choice of materials, and particular detailing. If you are interested in
