Cherry Writing Desk

Seen here is one of two elegant cherry writing desks. They measure 60" wide and 30" deep offering ample space to spread your work around, to use your laptop, or even for that clunky old desktop with a 20th century style CRT monitor.

The drawer fronts are made of bird's-eye maple and will eventually have small cherry wood "Shaker" or "mushroom" knobs.

Watch while they are made

I completed a pair of Gigi tables in early September. You can watch the step-by-step process of making my signature table in the current work gallery called the Longmont Project.

Contemporary Bench

I have recently constructed a bench out of solid maple and walnut. It stands 18.5 inches tall, and measures 58" wide and 15.5 inches deep. The top of the bench is over 2 inches thick.

it features beautiful figure in the black walnut. Click here to see a close-up of the figure. Some people see a face in the grain, others see a torso. In either case, it shows how we humans are pretty good at looking for and finding meaning in the beauty of nature.

Solid Walnut S.Q.D. table. 24"h 21" x 21"

S. Q. D. Side Table

This somewhat quirky design was inspired by a plywood work table in my neighbour's garden which was constructed using a handful of nails and lumber scraps. Despite the rickety nature of the garden table, something about its form caught my eye.

I thought that a side table could be solidly stable and yet look otherwise by having features like the subtle, quiet detail of legs that are not equally tapered and the more evidently skewed aprons.

Made with naturally-finished, solid hardwoods from North America - walnut, cherry and/or maple - this table is simply quite distinctive: unique, and a fine complement for any home.

Another Desk Job

This recently finished desk was inspired by the Arts & Crafts design of the early 20th century. It is solid maple and features bird's-eye maple drawer fronts and vertical slats.

The desk measures 54 inches wide and 28 inches deep, providing ample space for writing, for keeping books, for computer placement and so forth. The drawers are graduated in depth with the lower drawer being the deepest.
